SUMMER KIM
The project was commissioned by the lyricist Summer Kim, who requested a design that could be used for her personal branding as well as in derivative key visuals. Her work is dynamic, authentic, and becomes more beautiful the deeper it is understood. My aim was to capture both dynamism and beauty in the design. During my research on moving flower shapes and close-up photographs of flowers, I came across the idea of using X-rays as an element. I was curious about how beauty would look when captured through X-rays. I wanted to delve into the beauty that the client wanted to express, dissecting and examining it in detail. While the appearance of flowers is pretty, the process of sprouting, blooming, and eventually withering is beautiful. Therefore, I combined the elements of flowers and X-rays to create an illustration. This illustration can be used in four different variations, ranging from simple to complex. I decided that using both the actual photograph of the flower and my illustration together would result in a more intuitive design.
